Welcome to The Magnetic Shift ✨

Hi Reader,

I’m really glad you’re here.

If you’ve found your way to The Magnetic Shift, there’s a chance something in your life doesn’t feel quite right anymore.

Maybe you’re burnt out.

Maybe you feel stuck, even though from the outside your life looks perfectly fine.

Maybe you’ve lost some of the confidence you used to have.

Maybe you’ve spent years chasing the career, relationship, success, lifestyle or version of yourself you thought would make you happy — only to arrive there and quietly wonder:

Is this really it?

I know that feeling because I’ve lived it.

A little over a year ago, my life looked successful on paper.

I’d spent more than a decade building my career, leading businesses and teams, chasing achievement and constantly pushing myself towards the next thing.

I was independent. Ambitious. Capable.

And absolutely exhausted.

Eventually, my body made a decision my mind had been refusing to make.

It stopped.

I burnt out.

And what followed wasn’t simply a period of learning how to rest.

It became a much bigger unraveling.

I started questioning the career I’d built.

The way I measured my worth.

The pressure I put on myself.

The patterns and beliefs I’d been carrying for years.

The life I thought I should want.

And eventually, even who I was without all the things I had used to define myself.

So I did something I never imagined I would do.

I stepped away from the life I knew.

I left my home in Amsterdam, went to Bali, slowed everything down and started rebuilding.

Not by trying to become the old me again.

But by asking a different question:

Who do I actually want to become now?

That question has changed almost everything.

Over the past year, I’ve been learning how to move from survival mode into a completely different way of living.

To listen to my body instead of constantly overriding it.

To question beliefs I’d mistaken for truths.

To rebuild my confidence from somewhere deeper than achievement.

To trust myself again.

To redefine what success means to me.

To make decisions based on the life I actually want — rather than the life I think I’m supposed to want.

And perhaps most importantly, to realise that sometimes when you feel completely lost, you’re not actually lost.

You’ve simply outgrown the map you were following.

That is why I created The Magnetic Shift.

This isn’t a space about having everything figured out.

I certainly don’t.

And it isn’t about fixing yourself, endlessly healing yourself, or becoming some perfectly optimised version of yourself.

It’s about transformation.

The inner shifts that change the way you think, choose, live and lead yourself — and eventually change the life you create around you.

Here, I’ll share what I’m learning through my own lived experience alongside the ideas, tools, psychology, practices and frameworks that have helped me rebuild.

We’ll talk about burnout and healing.

Identity and reinvention.

Confidence and self-trust.

Mindset and limiting beliefs.

Life transitions and the uncomfortable messy middle.

Self-leadership.

And what it actually means to redesign a life around the person you’re becoming.

Because I’ve come to believe that being magnetic has very little to do with getting other people to want you.

Magnetism is what happens when you start wanting your own life.

When you trust yourself.

When your choices match your values.

When you stop measuring your life against everybody else’s timeline.

When you feel grounded in who you are.

When the person you are on the inside and the life you’re living on the outside finally start moving in the same direction.

That is the shift I’m making.

And if you’re somewhere in your own messy middle right now — burnt out, starting again, questioning everything, or simply knowing there has to be more than the life you’re currently living — I hope this becomes a place that helps you make your shift too.

You don’t need to have your next chapter figured out yet.

Maybe you just need to be willing to start asking what you actually want it to look like.

Welcome to The Magnetic Shift.

Your next chapter starts here.

And I’d love to know what brought you here.

Hit reply and tell me: what are you ready to shift in your life right now?

I read every reply.

The Magnetic Shift

Magnetic Shift began as I found my way through burnout and started rebuilding my life. It’s a space where I share what I’m learning about the beliefs, identities and patterns that shape us—and what it takes to move from feeling stuck and living in survival mode to feeling grounded, self-led and more like ourselves. Honest stories, reflections and practical tools for anyone finding their own way through healing, transformation and change.

Hi Reader, There’s a version of healing we’re often sold that looks a lot like becoming less human. Less emotional. Less sensitive. Less affected. Calmer. Harder to rattle. So when you begin doing the work and somehow find yourself crying more, noticing more, feeling more — it can be easy to assume you’re going backwards. But what if feeling more isn’t evidence that you’re becoming less resilient? What if it’s evidence that you’re no longer abandoning yourself in order to cope? For many...

Hi Reader, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the difference between learning how to cope with your life… and actually asking whether the life you’re coping with is one you want to be living. Because for a long time, I got very good at the first. Before I burnt out, I was doing everything I thought I was supposed to be doing to look after myself. I meditated. I journalled. I did breathwork. I went for walks. I exercised. I listened to podcasts about mindset, stress and personal...

Hi Reader, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what happens when you realise the life you worked so hard to build… isn’t actually the life you want anymore. Because I think there comes a point for many of us when something shifts. At some point, you’ll take a long, hard look at the life you’ve built… …and realise it’s no longer the life you want. Maybe it happens gradually. Or maybe life makes the decision for you. A burnout. A breakup. A redundancy. A health scare. Becoming a parent....
